Bokutachi wa Akuma: Chapter Thirty

“Ryota, Aiya, you two take Daichi home.” He slipped his cell phone into his pocket slowly. “I need to go talk to Mizuki and tell him everything is fine.” Maruki looked from one loyal friend to the other. He let out a soft sigh, trying to calm his nerves, being angry would not make this situation any easier.
“I mean, he already knows what happened. Mikiya can’t know, not yet. Its not a good time.” On top of all this excitement, the members of H2O looking for them, and releasing a new single soon, it was all too much.

The two of them nodded, heading out of the room before Maruki. Daichi had still been sitting on the floor, the blanket wrapped around his head like a nun, emphasizing the roundness of his face. Shivering still, Daichi looked up to the three of them childishly, all bundled up in a ball on the floor. In seeing him, Ryota snickered quietly under his breath at his cuteness.
“Dai chan. We’re going home now.” He stepped to Daichi, offering him a hand to help him up. “Its really late now and we have house work to do tomorrow.” After explanation from Maruki and Aiya, Ryota knew that he wouldn't be able to leave the house for a couple of days, which could be suspicious to Mikiya again; if he wasn't told first that was.

It was almost one in the morning, and Maruki had to go out and search for Mikiya before he got home. Where were they and why were those two out so late? Both Maruki and Aiya grabbed their house keys, not knowing when the other would be home. Daichi had been offered to borrow blanket, for he was still shivering. With the doors locked behind them, the four of them left the premises off into the depths of the night.
They had departed ways. Daichi leaned on both Ryota's and Aiya's shoulders, his feet barely touching the ground as they slowly made their way to their home.
With no transit service at this time of night, Maruki was stuck to biking. It was a good night for a bike ride, but an even better night for sleeping. If none of this ever happened, that was what the small boy would be doing at the moment, sleeping in his big warm bed.
He sped off down the road, with an unknown time limit, Maruki had to be fast; after all, it was at least a ten minute drive to Mikiya's house.

The two taller boys carrying their freezing friend walked slowly and steadily, keeping at a tolerable pace for their weakened friend. Though they were walking slowly, they were already over half way to Daichi's apartment building. Compared to Maruki's and Aiya's, it was much larger and more modern.

v “Hirota kun~! I'm tired! Can we just go home now?” Maika whined, leaning his head on Mikiya's shoulder.

Mikiya took a hand off the steering wheel, patting Maika's smooth cheek.
“You want to go home already?” He looked down to Maika for only a moment before returning his eyes to the blackened road ahead of them. “You are tired when I say you're tired.” He chuckled slightly, tilting his head to the side.

Maika huffed softly, sitting up straight again.
“Should have expected that.” He mumbled to himself softly.

Lately, Maika, as well as everyone else had been noticing that Mikiya had become more S than usual. He was S for no reason, making sexual comments when it wasn't necessary. He chuckled again, keeping his focus on the road.
“Hey. Is that?” he paused, trying to see if it was who he thought it was. “It is!” Maika told Mikiya to pull up ahead, pulling the car over to the curb. Maika rolled down the window, leaning out of it.
“Maru kun!” He waved at him, calling him over cutely.

Maruki squeezed the brakes on his bike in hearing his name. he looked around and saw a familiar face, the one he needed to see. He stepped off of his bike, kicking the stand; he looked around for strangers before leaving his bike on the sidewalk. Maruki darted over to the car and leaned into Maika's window.
“Mi-Mikiya.” He huffed quietly, almost completely out of breath. “Ha-have you gone home yet?” Mikiya shook his head.
“Good!” he leaned farther in the window, waving hello to Maika's face. “Whatever Mizuki tells you, don't listen to him!”

Mikiya looked to Maika confused. Tilting his head, he looked back to Maruki.
“Why?”

He stuttered slightly, not even thinking up a lie before he had to talk to Mikiya.
“Um.” He paused. Standing up straight, he looked off into the sky, trying to think quickly. “He overheard a conversation wrong.”

“What does that have to do with me?”

“Oh?” He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. This conversation wasn't going well since he had not thought up a lie to tell his friend. “He overheard me talking to Ruka that Dai chan and I were fooling around and I accidentally hurt him.” He chuckled nervously, leaning himself in the window again.
“He thinks I actually hurt him, but he is all right.” He pat Maika's chest lightly, as if he knew what he was talking about, but he was just as lost as Mikiya was.

He looked to Maruki quizzically.
“Is that all you needed to tell me?” Mikiya scratched his cheek gently, something why something like that was so urgent to tell him.
Since the group had formed together into one group rather than ‘GO! Best!’ and ‘Lucky Se7en’ most of them had many fights over long periods of time, usually making up the next day; in hearing that Daichi and Maruki were fooling around, or fighting, was not surprising.

Maruki froze up a moment, shifting his eyes to the side.
“Um, yes?”

Mikiya chuckled and leaned back in his seat, letting the steering wheel go.
“Well, all right then.” He reached across Maika and patted Maruki on the head, ruffling his hair slightly. “Go home then Maa chan. You look exhausted.”

Exhausted was only the half of it; filled with guilt and fear that he might do it again, he was stressed and anxious as well as exhausted. He nodded to Mikiya, leaning out of the car, waving to the two of them before darting towards his bike again. The car drove off, out of sight now. Maruki let out a slow, shaky sigh, feeling bad that he had to lie to Mama Mikiya. Having lied to Mama Mikiya, he was in the clear for now; at least he didn't have to tell him the truth at that moment, he was unprepared for it. v

The lights were off in the house, just as they left it; the curtains were wide open, letting in the yellow haze of the city lights to cast over their simple furniture. Aiya had held Daichi while Ryota was removing both his and Daichi's shoes. On their way up the elevator, Daichi had fallen into a deep, restful sleep, making this part difficult seeing as he was all dead weight.

“Arigatou Aiya.” Ryota took Daichi's arm again after placing their shoes by the wall. The two of them carried Daichi to his visually relaxing dojo bed.

Even before he was accepted into the group, Daichi lived a rich life style, even though him and his mother could not afford it. He had lived a lifestyle of the rich, even with just the basic need of life.
It was not rare for Ryota to be in Daichi's room, he stepped up onto his bed, kicking the blankets to the foot of the bed. Gently him and Aiya lowered him down, placing his head onto the pillow.
“Arigatou Ai chan.” He smiled softly to him, stepping off the bed. “I can take it from here. Ill change him into some more comfortable clothes.” He leaned down and hugged Aiya warmly.
“I’ll be talking to him about this when he wakes up.” He chuckled nervously. Worry filled him, not knowing if anything was going to change was killing him.
“I don't even know anything.” He felt bad. “When do you think he’ll wake up Ai?”

Aiya looked to Ryota, not knowing anymore then he did. He shook his head gently, looking down to the floor.
“I'm not sure, this is different than how Maruki acted. “He let out a soft sigh. “I mean, I remember Maa just slept for a couple of hours. I know ‘cause I slept with him.” Obviously he didn't know at the time, neither did Maruki, but that was when he began to act a little different.
“Just give him some time Ryo, he’ll come around soon.” Aiya knew that Ryota cared for Daichi almost as much as he cared for Maruki, the only difference was, him and Daichi were only friends. “Just give me and Maa a call when he wakes up, ne? Regarding the time. He is our friend too and we want to know if he's all right.” Perfect friends. A best friend cared for another, everyone in their group cared for each other greatly.

Ryota nodded, hugging Aiya again.
“Arigatou gozaimasu Aiya kun.” He smiled shyly and looked off to the side. “Oyasumi nasai.” His dark eyes gazed back up at Aiya shyly before he left Daichi's room.

The streets were quiet, the lights in almost everyone’s houses were off, except his small home. Mikiya pulled the car into his small parking space in front of the house.
“Shouldn't Mizuki be sleeping?” he looked over his shoulder at Maika, pulling his seatbelt off. Maika gave him a shrug. Mizuki was old enough to decide when he went to bed, but he had school to go to the next day; old enough or not, going to school took that factor out while he was staying at Mikiya's. If he was too tired to go to school the next morning, it was his fault he would still be going.

Mikiya and Maika entered their house, hoping to find that Mizuki had fallen asleep watching Television, instead they were bombarded at the door and forced into the corner.
“Mikiya! Mikiya! Mikiya!” Mizuki screamed his name loudly as he trampled over. “I have to tell you something!” he gripped to Mikiya's jacket, almost crawling up his chest.

“Ah! Mizuki! Get off!” Mikiya pushed him off, holding his vibrating shoulders still. “I know! Maruki already told me. He told me everything.” Mama Mikiya rubbed his shivering shoulders, trying to calm his adrenaline rush. He was the one everyone came to talk to vent. He had a nature that could calm someone with just a touch.

Mizuki relaxed under his touch, he was sure that Maruki was telling the truth, no one lied to Mama Mikiya. Mikiya pat his shoulder, sending him off.
“I’ll deal with him and Daichi tomorrow.” He spoke in a soft, small voice, calming Mizuki. “no go to bed, you have school in the morning.”

Maruki had done something terrible, lied about it and hid it from one of his best friends. Mikiya believed him whole-heartedly, telling him the truth would be a hundred times harder now that he had told that lie. When that time came, Mikiya will not be happy with him.
